About Us

Book Marketing Plus is located in Pat’s Hall, a historic Texas dance hall, in Fredericksburg, Texas.  Our office is in the former bar area (yes, the beer coolers are still in place), and the dance floor has become the home for our shelves of books.  Outside our office, there’s a pavilion with a magnificent oak tree (some arborists estimate it to be over 300 years old), and most of the old tables are still in place.  (See the drawing by a former employee, Martha Kipcak.) Generations of German families have socialized and celebrated family milestones here since about 1920.  But alas, with the dawning of television, VCR’s, and fancier, air-conditioned social venues, the dance hall was placed on the market in 1985, and purchased by the Shearer family.  Talk about adaptive re-use – from dancing to books!
